Common Questions

Can I claim for unfair dismissal?
You may have a claim if your employer dismissed you without a fair reason or failed to follow a fair procedure. A solicitor can review the circumstances and assess your options.
What should I do if my employer has not paid my wages?
You may be able to recover unpaid wages, holiday pay, bonuses or other contractual payments. Employment Tribunal time limits can apply, so the issue should be assessed promptly.
Should I sign a settlement agreement from my employer?
A settlement agreement normally requires independent legal advice before it becomes legally binding. A solicitor can explain the terms and, where appropriate, negotiate changes.
Can I take legal action for discrimination at work?
Potentially. UK employment law protects workers against discrimination related to protected characteristics. The available claim will depend on what happened and the evidence available.
How long do I have to make an Employment Tribunal claim?
Many employment claims have a time limit of three months less one day from the relevant event, although different rules and exceptions can apply. ACAS Early Conciliation can also affect the deadline.
